Even those genius poets have to write a lot of poems before they reached this status. It only means that you need to go through poetry writing workshop or training first to help improve your talents. With proper training, you can maximize the potential of your creativity. Your poetry writing ideas can be turned into something more concrete with words that will affect the readers deeply. Before you become a master, you have to do the following poetry writing exercises first:

• Look for writing prompts. These may give you more ideas about what to write about. Prompts are usually a word or a sentence that can guide poets or aspiring poets on what you should write about. If you want to practice, there are poetry writing prompts that you can find online.
